Printable African Paper Masks

  1. Open Microsoft Word and press the Apple N keys to create a new document.
  2. Go to View-Toolbars and make sure there are checks next to the Standard and Drawing toolbars.
  3. Select the 50% view option at the top of the Standard Toolbar.
  4. Look at all 114 African mask thumbnails and click on your favorite one.
  5. After clicking on the thumbnail, click on the mask again.
  6. While pressing the Control key click on your mouse button and copy the image.
  7. Go back to Microsoft Word and press the Apple V keys to paste the African mask image.
  8. Select the image and click your mouse button twice. This will open the Format Picture box.
  9. Click on the Layout tab and click on the In front of text icon. After clicking on the icon, select the Center button under the Horizontal Alignment section.
  10. Select the Crop button on the Picture toolbar and remove all unnecessary text and white borders.
  11. While pressing the Shift button, grab a corner of the picture and fill the entire Word document.
  12. Once the image fills the entire Word document, ask your teacher for permission to print.
  13. Place this picture in your binder. Students will color this mask for a future assignment.
